Washington Business Journal Names HireStrategy One of Greater Washington's "Best Places to Work"
ARLINGTON, VA -- The Washington Business Journal has named Reston-based HireStrategy as one of Greater Washington's "Best Places to Work."
HireStrategy and 54 other award winners were honored May 19 at a "Best Places to Work Breakfast" at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner.
The award from the Washington Business Journal follows HireStrategy's recognition as one of the Washington area's "Great Places to Work" in the November 2005 issue of Washingtonian magazine.
The newspaper cited management support for professional development, an enjoyable work environment, and employees' feelings that the company values their contributions as factors in giving HireStrategy the award.
Among HireStrategy's employee benefits cited by the newspapers were: four weeks' paid vacation after one year of employment; an on-site "Hire Bucks Café"; commuter/parking discounts or reimbursements; a formal telecommuting policy; a mentoring program; in-house training and development; reimbursement for outside workshops and training conferences, and professional association dues.
The newspaper, which interviewed a number of HireStrategy employees during the awards competition, included several employee quotes, including: "Working here is similar to working with your family and is fun and wonderful"; "This is a small company with a big heart"; and "At age 61, I am still highly valued by the company. I have no plans to slow down or step down."
