Provides Federal employees with technical support of information requests, as well as technical assistance in complying with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Applying an explicit knowledge of the accessibility requirements relevant to the DOL, ensures that web applications and content, telecommunication systems, hardware, software, and other applicable electronic and information technologies (EIT) conform to current Section 508 accessibility requirements. Consults with Section 508 Coordinator with meeting Section 508 accessibility requirements, including electronic documents posted on the Government Agency's public website and intranet. Must be able to write test summaries and test analysis summaries. Regularly participate in test readiness and release readiness meetings. May assist test automation developers in creating and maintaining automated test scripts. Develop test scenarios and provide support for User Acceptance Testing. Provides expertise on accessibility gained through Section 504 accommodations to ensure Web sites and E-Trainings are accessible, to identify assistive technology solutions and to identify EIT deficiencies impacting the performance of people with disabilities. Qualifications
Must have proficient knowledge and understanding of the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and how they apply to Federal agency business operations and processes. Demonstrated experience with assistive technology (e.g., screen readers, accessibility validation tools), HTML coding, CSS (stylesheets), and software (e.g., Dreamweaver, Javascript, PDF, Flash), as well as file and media formats. Bachelor's degree, preferably computer sciences, web development/design, graphic design, or knowledge acquired through extensive work-related experience. Two years of specialized experience organizing and supporting the implementation of Section 508. Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to solve customer problems in a timely manner a must. Equivalent work experience may replace preferred degree completion |
