Hirestrategy's client in the Sterling, VA area is looking for an architect with "Electric and/or Power" company experience (for example worked at Pepco or Baltimore Gas and Electric BG&E,etc.). It would also be a "nice to have" if they have worked on security software however it is not required. Again if you are familiar with SmartGrid components it's a plus. Some of the Applications will be Advanced Metering Infrastructure or Meter Data Management.

Qualifications:
Technical Skills
– Architectural knowledge of enterprise class systems using J2EE or .NET programming environments
– Understanding of operating systems and some exposure to computer language compiler architectures
– Understanding of SOA, Web Services, and other multi-layer architectural approaches
– Understanding of software development methodologies such as Waterfall, RUP, and/or Agile
Consulting Skills
– Ability to interface with clients, utilizing consulting and communication skills both written and oral
– Ability to undertake and complete tasks independently, meet schedules and delivery timelines, and to move swiftly from concepts and theory to action and results
– Ability to travel to client sites as needed 25%to 50%
Team Oriented Skills
– Ability to collaborate with project team members, take direction and execute tasks consistently
Demeanor

Education and Experience:
BS in CS, Engineering or equivalent. MS preferred
4-7 years programming experience using C/C++, J2EE or .Net
