The SkillSource Group Announces Launch of
Private E.Y.E. Program
Will business in our future economy survive without a strong workforce?
From as early as kindergarten we prepare young people for the world of education, but when the appropriate time comes, they are limited by the lack of exposure to the world of work. The SkillSource Group, Inc. (SSG) is working to respond to this disconnect through the introduction of a 2-year pilot program, Private-E.Y.E, Educating Youth through Employment.
The Northern Virginia Private-E.Y.E. initiative, which includes Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun counties, gives local businesses the opportunity to attract more talent to their industries and invest in their future workforce. Too many youth are unable to secure and sustain a job because they lack the real-life work experience that employers are looking for.
The E.Y.E. program would remedy this by working with businesses, educators and youth ages 16 to 21 in preparing them with the skills, training and wrap-around support necessary for a young person to succeed in the workplace. Area businesses have the option to hire or sponsor a youth for eight weeks during the summer, while at the same time contributing to the economic growth of their community.
Businesses will not only have the opportunity to expose these young people to their industry at an early age but will also have immediate access to one of the fastest growing consumer markets today.
