We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant, for our client in Westlake Village to support day-to-day accounting operations, with an initial focus on Accounts Payable while gaining exposure to broader accounting and finance functions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment and is eager to expand their skill set beyond AP while helping build scalable processes. This role reports directly to the Senior Accountant and partners with cross-functional teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Payments
- Process vendor invoices, wire transfers, and ACH payments accurately and timely
- Ensure proper coding and classification of invoices, expense reports, and transactions
- Manage AP inbox and vendor communications, resolving discrepancies and inquiries
- Maintain vendor records and ensure data accuracy within the ERP system
General Accounting & Close Support
- Perform account reconciliations and support the month-end close process
- Assist with journal entries, including accruals and prepaid expenses
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies
Systems & Process Improvement
- Support process improvements to enhance AP and accounting efficiency and scalability
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies
- Assist with ERP data maintenance (vendors, customers, chart of accounts)
Cross-Functional & Ad Hoc Support
- Partner with internal teams (operations, procurement, etc.) to support procure-to-pay workflows
- Assist with audit requests and documentation
- Support various accounting and finance initiatives as the company grows
- Take on additional responsibilities in a dynamic, evolving environment
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with both internal teams and external vendors
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset and desire to grow
