Qualifications:

  • Prior customer service experience, ideally within a healthcare or medical office setting
  • Basic understanding of medical billing, insurance, and explanations of benefits (EOBs)
  • Comfortable speaking with patients about billing questions and payment options
  • Clear, professional phone presence with strong listening skills
  • Empathetic and patient-focused approach when handling sensitive conversations

Job Description:

Addison Group is hiring a Customer Service Representative on behalf of our client in Columbia, SC. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity within a business office environment, supporting patients with billing-related inquiries. The role is best suited for someone who enjoys helping others, can explain financial information clearly, and thrives in a structured, team-oriented setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer inbound calls through a call queue
  • Assist patients with billing questions and account explanations
  • Collect payments and set up payment arrangements
  • Review patient accounts to explain charges and insurance details
  • Escalate or route complex issues to the appropriate department
  • Provide courteous, professional service on every interaction
